Fund-Raising Ideas

Try these fun ideas to increase your fund-raising efforts. The more creative you can be, the better. Your enthusiasm will help you raise money to support and further your program.


1.      
Change your voicemail message to mention your participation in your team’s fundraising drive.

2.       Create return address labels that read: “I’m getting into the ACT for [your organization]. Will you sponsor me?”

3.       Wear an ACT button or t-shirt to initiate conversations with people who see you wearing them.

4.       Make a list of pledge sponsors. List the amount you’re counting on them to pledge.

5.       Hold a team sipping party. Ask friends to bring other healthy goodies so you won’t do all the preparing and providing yourself.

6.       Stage a silent auction for the different ACT products. Set minimum pledge limits. Hold the auction over the space of a week and notify the winners.

7.       Identify corporate sponsors to ask for pledges of Silver Packs.

8.       Ask your place of worship if you can make a short presentation at the next service. Be sure to prepare your presentation ahead of time.

9.       Post messages on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and blogs with your personal or team’s ACT link. Some participants raise more than $1,000 this way from people across the country.

10.   Hold a garage or yard sale. Ask friends and family to donate items. Have ACT samples mixed and available as well as pouches, cans or super shots for sale.

11.   Hold a car wash or other group-oriented clean up activity. Have samples of ACT on hand to share. This is a great way for people to try ACT “in action”.

12.   Sample ACT to chiropractors, therapists, gym owners, personal trainers, insurance agents, massage therapists, veterinarians, hair stylists, etc..

13.   Ask area artists or creative friends to include ACT at their shows and performances.

14.   Ask a restaurant manager if you can hold a sipping party on a slow evening.

15.   Send a pledge letter to friends and family. It should include select ACT product suggestions and a date/deadline.

16.   In lieu of a gift on your birthday or other occasion, ask family and friends to make a pledge of ACT products to the program on your behalf.

17.   Delegate. Give 10 pledge forms to 10 friends and ask them to get pledges for you.

18.   Send letters to the parents of youth sports teams’ members.

19.   Find companies looking for tax write-offs. Ask friends and family to help.

20.   Bring a potential sponsor to a practice session and ask for a pledge.

21.   Following up is a critical aspect of fund raising. Call all potential sponsors today.

22.   Make business cards with your fundraising information, your name and address. Hand them out to everyone you meet.

23.   Contact the national chapter of your fraternity or social organization and ask for sponsorship. If you did not belong to a fraternity or sorority, ask someone who did.

24.   Get  a FREE ACT web site. Send e-mails to everyone inviting them to visit your site. When they reply, tell them about your fundraising drive.

25.   Create a rolling screen saver on your computer as a reminder of your commitment.

26.   Post an e-mail on your company’s “announcements” bulletin board. Send respondents your ACT website.

27.   When asking for pledges, mention “My average pledge has been around $XX. Can you sponsor me?”

28.   For any chores that you’d normally do for free for neighbors, friends or family, leave a card or flyer and ask them for a pledge.

29.Ask your auto mechanics for pledges.

30.Give your postal carriers ACT Energy samples and ask them for pledges.
